The Lakers are coming off their lowest-scoring game of the season, but Monday’s matchup presents an ideal opportunity to get right back on track. They are facing a Hornets defense that allowed 53 first-quarter points in a blowout loss to Miami on Friday. Charlotte is giving up 121 points per game, ranked No. 26 in the NBA, while Los Angeles is also mediocre defensively at No. 16 (117.1). Mavericks +2 vs. Bucks (-112)

This is the first meeting between Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg, who was the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft. Milwaukee is on the second leg of a back-to-back after losing to Houston at home on Sunday. The Bucks went just .500 on the second leg of back-to-backs last season, and the Mavericks had the day off on Sunday following their win over the Wizards on Saturday. Star center Anthony Davis has missed the last five games with a strained calf, but he was upgraded to questionable on Saturday and is a game-time decision on Monday.
