Chris Brown is apologizing to pianist Robert Glasper for his reaction to losing at the 2023 Grammys.

On Monday, Brown shared a screenshot of a direct message he wrote to Glasper on Instagram that read, “Congratulations my brother… I would like to apologize if you took offense to my reaction at the Grammys. You were not the intended target and I know I came off really rude and mean.”

“After doing my research I actually think you’re amazing,” Brown continued. “The organization isn’t doing us Blacks our due diligence. You and I should never be in the same category… two totally different vibes and genres. So from one Black man to another, congratulations. Hope you are able to feed your family for life. God bless my G.”

Brown’s Breezy (Deluxe) album was nominated in the Best R&B album category alongside Glasper, PJ MortonMary J. Blige, and Lucky Daye

After receiving news of who won the award on Sunday, the “Under The Influence” artist shared a series of Instagram Stories mocking the pianist.

“Who the f*** is Robert Glasper,” he wrote. “Ima keep kicking y’all a**! Respectfully.”

“I gotta get my skills up,” he added. “Ima start playing the harmonica.”
