Following her MTV VMAs performance on Sunday, which included a preview of her new single, “Big Energy,” Latto is expecting huge success as she prepares for the song’s official release on September 24.

She posted a teaser video on Instagram that features an animated slot machine that hits the jackpot when the numbers land on the release date for the track. “Big Energy” samples Mariah Carey‘s 1995 number-one hit “Fantasy” — which itself sampled Tom Tom Club‘s classic 1981 dance track “Genius of Love” — and features Latto rapping, “I can be your fantasy/ I can see you got big, big energy.”

The Atlanta rapper, formerly know as Mulatto, also performed her 2020 gold-certified hit “Muwop” — which featured Gucci Mane — on the VMAs.

As many entertainers and athletes have recently revealed mental-health struggles during the pandemic, ABC News asked Latto backstage at the VMAs to describe how she maintains a positive state of mind.

“I stay with my family. I keep like day-one friends, family around me so they keep me grounded,” she said. “Praying. I have a very close relationship with God. Sometimes we just need a little me time… [a] little mani pedi, massage…IVs. Keep it very healthy, inside and out.” (AUDIO IS ABC 1-ON-1)

Latto, born Alyssa Michelle Stephens, was nominated for Best New Artist at the BET Hip Hop Awards in 2020. Earlier this year, she was featured on Chris Brown‘s “Go Crazy” remix with Young Thug, Future and Lil Durk.
