Green Bay bounced back in a big way on Monday night, defeating the Detroit Lions, 35-17. Aaron Rodgers looked like the superstar quarterback that he is under the bright lights of Monday Night Football. He was 22-of-27 for 255 yards and four touchdowns.
Down 17-14 at the beginning of the third quarter, Rodgers uncorked a beautiful 50-yard throw down the right sideline to Davante Adams. He then followed up by throwing a 22-yard rocket over the middle of the field to Robert Tonyan that gave Green Bay a 21-17 lead. Rodgers and the Packers seemed to find their rhythm offensively, so look for it to continue on the road against San Francisco.

Deebo Samuel is off to a strong start to the season. Samuel currently leads the league in receiving yards with 282 yards on 15 receptions with one score. In the season-opener, Samuel torched the Lions’ secondary, reeling in nine catches for 182 yards. The 2019 second-round pick appears well on his way to establishing himself as one of the NFL’s elite wide receivers.
Samuel has caught four passes of 20 or more yards, which is tied for second in the league. The former South Carolina Gamecock is averaging a league-high 141 receiving yards a game with a whopping 18.8 yards per reception. Samuel has the quickness and agility to make defenders miss in open space and could give Green Bay’s secondary fits.
