Ray J files for divorce from wife Princess Love

Shortly after announcing that he was taken to a Miami hospital for pneumonia and claiming no one has come to visit him, Ray J has filed to divorce his wife of five years, Princess Love.  

E! News reports that the “Wait a Minute” singer filed the new paperwork on Wednesday, citing irreconcilable differences as cause for their separation.

Prior to the filing, the 40-year-old spoke with Hollywood Unlocked about his hospitalization and claimed amid his battle with pneumonia, “I been in here all by myself for a week… No family members came to see me, not even my wife.”

Ray J — real name William Ray Norwood Jr. — is seeking joint custody of his and Love’s two children, Melody, 3, and Epik, 1.   The two married in 2016.

Cracks in their relationship started to show last November when the model accused her husband of leaving her “stranded” in Las Vegas and threatened to divorce him.

This latest filing marks the third time the pair have tried to separate — the first being in May 2020, but the couple patched things up in July and Love asked the court to dismiss her request. It should also be noted that the rapper did not respond to the legal documents at the time.

Also, that following September, Ray J was the one to file for divorce.

The singer, Princess Love nor their representatives have commented publicly on the matter.
